Marzitelli, a lifelong St. Paul (Minn.) resident who served as a city council member (1950-1957), Deputy Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Highways (1957-1961), Executive Vice President of the Port Authority of St. Paul (1961-1972), St. Paul City Administrator (1972-1975), Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Highways (1975-1978), and Deputy Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Welfare; and in leadership roles in a number of civic, service, and fraternal organizations, particularly in the areas of health care and the arts.
